Mark Kumamoto

When and why did you begin your career in real estate? I started my real estate career in June 2004 with Prudential Arizona Properties. Shortly after that I made the decision to move back home to Hawaii where I joined Locations in January 2005. My “why” has changed through the years, but the reasons I started–the joy and satisfaction of helping people–still hold true. Helping people to turn their dreams of homeownership into reality is truly priceless!

What led you to want to coach other agents? I’ve been blessed to have had great coaches and mentors throughout my career, and I realize the importance of coaching to an agent’s development. I valued this dearly, and really feel that I can make a difference in a new agent’s career.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job? I hold the values of Transparency, Honesty and Loyalty very close to my heart, and I bring those values to the work environment. Listening and empathy are key to my coaching philosophy.

What do you think is your most important role as a coach? To help agents see their full potential and believing in them when sometimes no one does. Understanding their hot buttons and knowing their “why” is also important.

Agents describe Mark as: Down to earth, easygoing, friendly, motivational and honest. They have also said Mark is: “Always thinking of how to help agents” and “great at finding good talent,” and that he “helps agents stay focused” and “makes people feel determined.”
