Darryl Macha, 2024 Realtor of the Year
Locations is thrilled to celebrate a remarkable achievement by one of our own—Darryl Macha, Principal Broker, has been named the 2024 Realtor® of the Year by the Honolulu Board of Realtors®.
This prestigious honor, awarded annually, recognizes an Oahu Realtor® who exemplifies professional excellence, ethical integrity, community engagement and leadership within local, state, and national Realtor® organizations. Darryl’s selection is particularly noteworthy as he is among the youngest recipients in the award’s 66-year history—a testament to his extraordinary contributions to the Hawaii real estate community.
A Legacy of Leadership and Service
Over his nearly 20-year career, Darryl has built a reputation as a trusted industry leader and advocate for homeownership, professionalism and ethics. As a former president of the Honolulu Board of Realtors®, he worked tirelessly to advance the real estate profession and protect the rights of homeowners in Hawaii and nationwide.
He has also served as a director for both the Hawaii Association of Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors®. In 2020, he was selected as one of just 18 Realtors® in the country to participate in the NAR Leadership Academy, a program that prepares future leaders to guide the organization on a national level.
A Commitment to Excellence
Darryl holds several professional designations, a reflection of his commitment to furthering his education and providing his clients with exceptional representation and service. He is also a graduate of Waipahu High School, the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Dale Carnegie Training Hawaii.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Darryl is deeply committed to giving back. He is a Guardian Donor to the Locations Foundation, the firm’s charitable nonprofit, and an active volunteer in his church and neighborhood association.
Locations Fosters Leadership
Darryl joined Locations in 2017, prior to his term as Board president, to leverage the firm’s complimentary coaching, marketing and technology support, and legacy of industry leadership (Locations been home to several Honolulu Board and Hawaii Association of Realtors® presidents, as well as Hawaii’s only National Association of Realtors® President). The move to Locations allowed him to maintain his thriving real estate business while keeping up with the demands of volunteer leadership within the Hawaii real estate community.
Darryl was promoted to managing broker in 2022, and was made Principal Broker in November 2024. In this role, he supervises the real estate activities and conduct of all Locations agents, and ensures they continue to provide ethical, professional service to our clients. His journey to Realtor® of the Year embodies the values of hard work, integrity and community focus championed at Locations.
