Beyond Real Estate: Why Community Involvement Matters at Locations

When seven Locations agents and employees volunteered at a recent Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii movie morning, they weren’t there to sell homes. They were there to welcome families, hand out popcorn, cheer on children during a Toy Story-themed costume contest, and help create a memorable experience for the community. It’s one example of what life at Locations looks like beyond real estate.

As a Hawaii real estate brokerage, Locations invests in more than helping agents build successful businesses. Through the Locations Foundation, agents and employees have opportunities throughout the year to volunteer with nonprofit organizations across Hawaii. Whether supporting youth mentoring programs, senior initiatives, community events, or local charities, these experiences help our team stay connected to the communities they serve.

According to Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, the movie morning welcomed 114 participants, including 66 youth and 48 adults. The event gave children, mentors, and families an opportunity to enjoy time together while celebrating the mentoring relationships at the heart of the organization’s mission.

Through the Locations Foundation, agents and employees have opportunities to volunteer with nonprofit organizations across Hawaii. In addition to organizing volunteer opportunities like the movie morning, the Foundation also provides financial support to nonprofit partners, including a recent $5,000 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii.

Real estate has always been a relationship business. Community involvement provides another way for our agents to build connections, support local organizations, and better understand the people and neighborhoods they serve. Along with coaching, technology, marketing resources, and collaboration, it’s one of the many ways Locations invests in the long-term success of its agents.

With the cost of a family trip to the movies continuing to rise, the event gave children, mentors, and families an opportunity to enjoy a fun outing together without the added expense. The movie also reinforced the importance of spending time together and building meaningful relationships, a message that closely aligns with the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii.

“Our ongoing partnership with the Locations Foundation truly makes a difference for our programs and the youth we serve.”

— Chad Takasaki, Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii

For many agents, opportunities like this are a meaningful part of working at Locations. Whether volunteering through the Locations Foundation or participating in community events throughout the year, they have the chance to make a positive impact while building relationships beyond the transaction.
