Jantzen Shinmoto: Culture, Camaraderie & the Company You Keep

As a new real estate agent in 2022, Jantzen Shinmoto was struggling to find the support, structure and proven systems that would take his career to the next level. On the advice of a friend in the industry he gave Locations a try and hasn’t looked back since. Today, Jantzen is thriving, thanks to our collaborative culture, welcoming environment and top-performing mentors.

Like Lindsey Itamoto, Wade Uehara and countless other experienced agents, Jantzen Shinmoto began his real estate career at another firm but quickly made the move to Locations in search of more resources and greater support to jumpstart his business.

He recently celebrated his first anniversary with Locations, ending 2023 with five closed transactions. As he reflected on the past year, he pointed to three key factors in his success:

  • New agent training—our comprehensive, accelerated new agent training program, also known as “Greenie” training, is a crash course in all aspects of the real estate business—from earning new business to speaking confidently about Oahu’s many neighborhoods. Although Jantzen wasn’t a brand-new agent when he came to Locations, enrolling in Greenie training allowed him to brush up on his skills and learn productive habits.
  • Open house opportunities—With about 200 agents and a deeply ingrained culture of collaboration, many agents, like Jantzen, have the opportunity to generate new business by sitting open houses in various neighborhoods and at different price points. Hosting an open house, even if it’s not your listing, is an excellent way to make new contacts, get better acquainted with a neighborhood or building, and stay current on buyer trends and preferences.
  • Lead generation—When you’re building your business, discovering a steady stream of high-quality leads is like striking gold. By participating in Locations Leads program (formerly known as BMLS) Jantzen has been able to quickly add new prospects to his CRM. He can continue to nurture those new relationships through automated emails, the Locations app and a strategic farming program, turning contacts into clients!

But, as important as programs and opportunities like these are, it’s our people that have bonded Jantzen to Locations. To be surrounded by accomplished, experienced agents who are truly invested in the success of the next generation of agents is a rare advantage in our crowded industry—and one that’s sure to pay dividends for years to come.
